Father Tyrell J. Alles, O.S.B.

I was born and raised in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I had my primary and college education at

St. Benedict’s College, Colombo. I am a religious priest of the Benedictine Congregation. I

earned a Bachelors in Philosophy and Theology from the National Seminary of Our Lady of

Lanka which is affiliated to the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. After ordination to the

Priesthood in 1993, I studied for my license in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical

Institute in Rome. Thereafter, I lectured at the National Seminary in Sri Lanka for many years.

Subsequently, I earned a doctorate in Biblical Studies at the Catholic University of America,

Washington, D.C. I served as pastor of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne. After a brief

stint as parochial vicar of St. Therese and St. Henry in Fort Wayne, I was appointed as pastor of St. Louis Besançon, New Haven.
